Overview
Most reserved permit holders can share their space on days they don't need it. However, sharing isn't available for every permit. If you can't see the Share my space card or it's greyed out, one of the reasons below is likely the cause.
Common reasons sharing isn't available
You have an unreserved permit, not a reserved one — unreserved permits give you access to a shared pool of spaces, rather than a specific space, so there's nothing to share
Your space is in a tandem (stacked) parking arrangement — sharing isn't supported for tandem spaces
Your permit is part of a centrally billed group — for some workplace permit setups, the organisation manages access centrally and individual sharing is turned off
The parking facility uses swipe card access — when entry depends on a physical swipe card linked to you, another parker can't get in to use your space, so sharing has been disabled
The parking facility owner has turned sharing off — your parking administrator may have disabled sharing for your group or parking facility
What to do if you think you should be able to share
Contact your parking administrator to check whether sharing has been disabled for your group, or whether there's another way to free up your space on days you don't need it.
