Overview
If you have a reserved permit, you can share your space with other parkers on days you don't need it. When someone parks in your shared space, you earn sharing credits that go towards your next permit bill — making your permit cheaper, and the parking facility better used overall.
How sharing credits work
Each time someone parks in your shared space and pays for a session, you earn a percentage of the session earnings (after any applicable fees) as a sharing credit on your account. The exact percentage depends on the parking facility — your parking administrator can confirm the rate.
Sharing credits are automatically applied to your next permit billing cycle, reducing the amount you owe.
Note: If you have a paid individual permit, you can see your accumulated sharing credits on the Sharing credit screen in the Parkable app.
How to share your space
There are a few ways to share, depending on how regular your schedule is:
One-off sharing for the next few days — see How to share your permit
Set a recurring schedule for days you regularly don't need your space — see Setting your recurrent permit sharing
Get a reminder to share so you don't forget — see Set a reminder to share your permit space
Why sharing isn't always available
Sharing isn't supported for every type of permit or parking facility. If the Share my space card isn't showing, see Why is sharing not available with my permit? for the most common reasons.
