How do pricing rates work with early bird and night rates?

Understand how Early Bird, hourly, night, and cap rates affect what you pay for parking.

Overview

Each parking facility has its own pricing structure. Rates can include hourly charges, Early Bird discounts, night rates, and a cap rate that limits how much you can be charged for a single session.

You can check pricing for any parking facility before you start a session.

How to check pricing

  1. Tap the parking facility you want to book

  2. Tap Car park details

  3. Tap Pricing

This shows the hourly rate, Early Bird rate (if available), night rate (if available), and the maximum cap rate.

Early Bird rate

The Early Bird rate is a discounted fixed daily rate that applies if you start your session within a specified time window β€” usually early in the morning.

  • Your session must start inside the Early Bird window to qualify for the discount

  • The Early Bird rate covers up to 12 hours of parking

  • After 12 hours, the standard hourly rate applies

Tip: Early Bird windows vary by parking facility β€” for example, some facilities run 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM. Check the Pricing screen for the exact window at the parking facility you want to use.

Important: If you start your session outside the Early Bird window, you'll be charged the standard hourly rate instead.

Hourly rate

For hourly parking, you are charged for each hour your session is active. Once a session enters a new hour, you are charged for the full hour even if you only use part of it.

Night rate

Some parking facilities offer a separate night rate β€” a discounted hourly rate that applies during a defined overnight window (for example, after 6:00 PM until 6:00 AM). Like other rates, the exact times and pricing vary by facility.

  • Your session must start within the night rate window to qualify

  • Night rate sessions are typically capped at a fixed duration (for example, up to 8 hours)

  • After the cap, the standard daytime rate applies for any remaining time

Important: If your session starts during night rate hours but extends past the cap or into the daytime rate window, you'll be charged the night rate up to its cap, then the standard rate for the remainder. This can result in a higher total than expected. See Why are parking fees higher when sessions span night and day rate periods? for examples.

Cap rate

The cap rate is the maximum amount you can be charged for a single session. Once you reach the cap, charges stop accumulating, no matter how long you stay parked. This makes longer stays more predictable.

Avoiding unexpected charges

  • Start your session within the Early Bird window to qualify for the discount

  • End your session as soon as you leave to avoid being charged for time you don't use

  • Check the Pricing screen before starting a session if you're not sure of the rates
